iWok is building its first-ever menu — and we want your ideas!

Join our Design Your iWok Dish Campaign & Contest and help us shape the future of our menu.

There are two exciting contest levels — read on to learn more and win great prizes!

 

1. Contest Levels

  • Level 1: Participants submit creative name ideas for two specific dishes announced in contest posts: Orange Chicken and Yuxiang Shredded Pork.
  • Level 2: Create-a-Dish Grand Prize Challenge — Participants submit original wok-based dish ideas — no ingredient restrictions. Vegan, vegetarian, and fusion ideas welcome!

2. Entry & Participation Rules

  • The campaign and contest is centered on the Greater Houston area — especially communities around Chinatown, Katy, and Texas Medical Center — but participation is open globally via online entry. All entrants are eligible to have their dish featured on iWok’s menu and to be named a Brand Ambassador.
  • Physical prizes and experiences (such as Tasting Event attendance, free dish benefits, and in-store Gift Cards) are best enjoyed by participants located in the Greater Houston area, or by those willing and able to travel to Houston at their own expense.
  • iWok will mail non-location-bound prizes (such as The Wok cookbook) to winners anywhere.
  • Participants outside Houston are very welcome and encouraged to contribute ideas and may fully win all honors and menu placement — however, they may not immediately be able to enjoy location-based benefits unless and until iWok expands to their area, or unless they choose to travel to claim those experiences.
  • Open to legal residents of any country aged 18 and above.
  • No purchase necessary to enter or win.
  • Employees of Bao Shi Yi/iWok and immediate family members are not eligible.
  • Participants may submit one entry per contest level (Rename-a-Dish and Create-a-Dish).
  • Entries must be posted as comments under official contest posts on Bao Shi Yi/iWok’s Facebook or Instagram page.
  • Most liked entries will be considered finalists. Final winners will be selected by iWok based on creativity, flavor potential, and brand fit.

3. Content Guidelines

  • Rename-a-Dish entries must be creative, appropriate, and family-friendly.
  • Create-a-Dish entries must be wok-based and Asian or Asian-fusion inspired. We welcome all creative ideas, with one restriction: MSG (monosodium glutamate) may not be included in any part of the dish.
  • Entries must not infringe on third-party rights or include offensive content.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok reserves the right to remove or disqualify any entry in violation of these guidelines.

4. Prizes

  • Level 1 – Rename-a-Dish Challenge:
  • Winning name featured on iWok’s menu (final wording subject to iWok approval).
  • $50 iWok Gift Card.
  • Invitation to exclusive Tasting Event.
  • Copy of The Wok — the award-winning cookbook by food scientist and chef J. Kenji López-Alt, featuring 200+ amazing wok recipes.
  • Level 2 – Create-a-Dish Grand Prize Challenge:
  • Winning dish featured on iWok’s menu.
  • Brand Ambassador title.
  • Invitation to exclusive Tasting Event and opportunity to meet the iWok culinary team.
  • Free lifetime access to the dish (1 serving/day, dine-in only, non-transferable).
  • Copy of The Wok — the award-winning cookbook by food scientist and chef J. Kenji López-Alt, featuring 200+ amazing wok recipes.

5. Brand Ambassador Requirements

  • By accepting the Brand Ambassador title, the winner agrees to allow Bao Shi Yi/iWok to use their name, image, and statements in marketing and promotional materials in perpetuity.
  • Brand Ambassadors are honorary and not considered employees or contractors of Bao Shi Yi/iWok.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok reserves the right to revoke Brand Ambassador title and associated rewards if the winner engages in criminal or brand-damaging conduct.

6. Rights & Usage

  • By entering, participants grant Bao Shi Yi/iWok full rights to use, reproduce, modify, and promote their submissions across all platforms.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok may adapt the submitted dish or dish name for operational, culinary, or brand reasons as needed.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok may feature additional non-winning entries at its discretion.

7. Disqualification

  • Entries obtained through fake likes, bots, or spam activity may be disqualified.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok reserves the sole right to determine disqualification for any violation of the contest rules.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, or misdirected entries due to technical or internet failures.

9. Contest Changes

  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.

10. Contest Timeline

  • Launch Date: Friday, June 6, 2025.
  • End Date: Friday, July 4, 2025, at 9:00 AM Central Time.
  • Winners will be announced shortly after the deadline.
  • In case of a tie in likes, the earliest posted entry will take priority. Final selection rests with iWok.

11. Acceptance of Terms

  • By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  • Bao Shi Yi/iWok reserves the right to interpret, change, or modify these rules at any time.
